Context
A Leeds church needed a site that served two audiences: regular members looking for service times, sermons, and events — and visitors trying to decide whether to come for the first time.
The problem
- — Existing site was a long, hard-to-scan list of links with no clear path for new visitors.
- — Sermon archive was not searchable or linkable.
- — Mobile experience was particularly poor — most traffic comes from phones.
What we built
- — Visitor-first homepage with clear service times, location, and 'what to expect'.
- — Sermon archive with topic and series filtering.
- — Events calendar with RSVP links.
- — Accessible, mobile-first design with strong typography for older readers.
- — Lightweight content management for staff to update without engineering help.
Outcome
- — New-visitor information is now front and centre.
- — Members find service and event details in seconds, not minutes.
- — Site loads fast on mobile across the catchment area.
